01
Request the address before plan submittal
The site plan should show the primary home, proposed ADU, street relationship, entries, paths, and other information requested by staff.
Anaheim’s checklist places the new-address request early. Submit the current form with the information the City asks for instead of waiting until permit issuance.
02
Show both homes clearly on the site plan
Use the assigned address consistently in utility documents, plan sheets, permit records, equipment labels, delivery instructions, and closeout records.
The plan should make the street, primary residence, ADU, entrances, and paths easy to understand. Confirm the assigned number rather than inventing a temporary label.
03
Use one address across every project file
Address assignment does not confirm the rest of the project. Keep eligibility, design, utilities, and building review moving on their own tracks.
Carry the same address into utility correspondence, calculations, plan sheets, permit records, equipment labels, and inspection requests. Correct inconsistencies as soon as they appear.
04
Label the site before deliveries begin
Post the approved address where crews, inspectors, deliveries, and emergency responders can identify the unit. Coordinate the final installation with City direction.
